What does this tool look at?

Tools that measure whether your copy answers the search behind the query: density, readability, heading length and keyword research.

  • Automatic clustering by word overlap
  • A suggested pillar page title per cluster
  • Keywords that fit no cluster listed separately
  • Internal linking suggestions inside each cluster

What this tool measures

Building a separate page for every phrase that shares one intent leaves Google unable to tell which page answers the topic. Write one page for “web design pricing” and another for “website price list” and both stay half finished while suppressing each other.

The tool breaks each phrase into content words and computes Jaccard similarity against existing clusters. A phrase joins the closest cluster at 0.34 overlap or higher; if nothing matches, it starts its own. As a cluster grows its shared core narrows, so only the words the members genuinely have in common survive.

Up to 400 phrases per run, three minimum. Duplicate lines are removed before processing. The fifteen largest clusters open as tables, and phrases that stayed alone are collected in a separate list.

How to use it

  1. 1

    One phrase per line

Paste the query report from Search Console, a Keyword Planner export or the output of the Keyword Suggestions tool. Line breaks separate entries, not commas.

  2. 2

    Clean the list first

Branded queries and single generic words distort the clusters. Remove them and what remains maps to topics that can actually carry a page.

  3. 3

Turn clusters into a page list

Each cluster is one page. The lead phrase becomes the main heading, the rest become H2 sections or supporting articles.

  4. 4

    Decide on the leftovers

A phrase that joined no cluster either deserves its own page or slipped into the list by accident. Read each one and pick one of the two.

  5. 5

    Wire the internal links

Link from every supporting article to the cluster's main page, and from that page back to all of them. Link across clusters only where the topics genuinely overlap.

When to use it

  • Deciding which pages to build from a Search Console report with hundreds of queries.
  • When you suspect three near-identical posts on an existing blog: posts landing in one cluster are merge candidates.
  • While planning a new site architecture, to derive navigation labels from keyword data instead of opinion.
  • On an online store, when deciding whether a topic needs a category page or just a filter.

Reading the result

  • Low clustered ratio

The clustered X/Y statistic tells you how much of the list came together. A low ratio means the list is either too generic or covers unrelated topics; try again with a narrower subject.

  • More than fifteen phrases in one cluster

A very crowded cluster can mean a topic no single page can carry. Read the subtopics and split it in two, but only if each half has its own search intent.

  • The suggested pillar heading

That heading is assembled from the cluster's shared core words. Treat it as a draft: rewrite it in human language and confirm people actually search that phrasing.

  • Phrases that joined no cluster

These fell below the similarity threshold. Usually a typo, a brand term or a query outside the topic. Where a real niche hides behind one, it earns a page of its own.

  • Two clusters on the same topic

No shared words but the same subject means people search one thing with different vocabulary. Build one page and use both vocabularies inside it.

Questions about the Keyword Clustering

Word overlap: the shared content words of two phrases divided by their combined words. Anything above 0.34 joins the same cluster. There is no SERP comparison, because that needs live search results for every query.

Three at minimum, 400 at most. Duplicates are stripped automatically, so you can paste a raw export. Lines beyond 400 are ignored.

Word count is an outcome, not a target. Write a page that genuinely answers every phrase in the cluster: five phrases naturally produce a longer page, two may stay short.

You do not have to. Google reads the structure from internal links. Many supporting articles pointing at one page is what marks that page as the centre of the topic.
